The Bullmastiff is a strong working breed. Socialization as a puppy is crucial as they can develop a prey drive if left to themselves. Jenkins Family HIGHLY recommend getting your puppy out as much as possible. AKC All Breed Dog Shows are an excellent place to socialize in a controlled environment.

~We as breeders do everything possible to produce healthy and sound puppies. This is accomplished by only breeding dogs that are of flourishing health, sound mind and by raising the puppies with exceptional methods in regards to: housing, veterinary care, health testing (CERF, Echocardiogram, OFA hips & elbows), and diet.~

Do They Drool?Yes! Most of the time it is only when drinking, eating or when they are playing really hard or is is hot outside.... but that's just part of the breed's charm, right??
|
Family Dog?Bullies are an excellent family dog....WITH TRAINING. They have a natural "gentle giant" disposition. As you can imagine with this rare giant breed, when Bullies are puppies, they are BIG puppies. With proper training Bullmastiffs can be around even the smallest child. Remember, children have to be "trained" too, in order to be around any dog safely.

Are Bullmastiffs Lazy? The answer is yes....and no. The Bully is known as a lazy breed, however, when the need arises they are a very quick and powerful animal! Either out in the yard protecting their "Estate", or in our home walking around babies, Bullmastiffs are able to be agile at any given time. But don't get me wrong, once the "Estate" is "All Secure", they do LOVE their sleep! Some like Lincoln on the right can compete in Rally, Obedience, Agility, Barn Hunt and Lure Coursing!

Bullmastiff Size? The Bullmastiff is the smallest of the Mastiff breeds. Males tend to be between 110lbs to 130lbs and 25 to 27 inches tall. Females 100lbs to 120lbs and 24 to 26 inches tall.
|
Why the Brindle? In the beginning of the Bullmastiff breed, brindle's were sought after for their camouflage as an estate guard in the late 1800's. At night you might be surprised to meet Georgia's cold wet nose greeting you before you even see her!
SocializationSocialization is of the upmost importance when raising a well rounded Bullmastiff. Taking your puppy to dog parks is a very dangerous way to try to socialize. Dog shows are an excellent place to socialize. All different sights and sounds to experience! Going to stores that are pet friendly and regular on leash parks are good as well. Jenkins Family Bullmastiffs also highly recommend doing AKC Canine Good Citizen certification.
|
Are They Loyal?Yes! Bullmastiffs are very loyal. They will always want to be at your side no matter what you are doing. They are faithful, loving protectors and form a strong bond. Our dogs have high respect for our family members.
